Build a foundation for lasting recovery

partial hospitalization programOutpatient treatment for addiction recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Three basic levels of care are available on an outpatient basis. A regular outpatient program (OP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and a partial hospitalization program (PHP). As you can imagine, a PHP is the highest level of care you can receive while still living at home.

Partial hospitalization is a standard of care that often meets the needs of those who qualify for inpatient treatment but have strong reasons for not choosing residential rehab. Evoke Wellness provides evidence-based care in several inpatient and outpatient options at all our locations in the United States. To learn more about our PHP addiction treatment program or ask questions about how PHP rehab programs differ from other choices, give us a call at 866.429.2960 or fill out this online form, and someone will get back to you promptly.

What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

A PHP rehab program provides a high level of care for addiction while being offered on an outpatient basis. During the day, clients receive evidence-based therapies, skills education, and peer support before returning home to sleep.

The time commitment of a PHP addiction treatment program is the highest of all outpatient rehab options. Up to six hours a day (or more), five days a week, clients are in the rehab facility engaged in various treatments and activities that are part of their individual treatment plans and overseen by the clinical staff.

A PHP program will likely require time off from work or school, but most people maintain some level of connection to keep up with the basic demands of outside responsibilities. Still, while enrolled in a PHP program, recovery is the priority, and external commitments may need to be adjusted accordingly.

Is a PHP Rehab Program Right for You?

The decision of what kind of addiction treatment is right for you is yours, but talking to your family, your primary care doctor, and the team of professionals at the rehab facility can help you make the best choice for you. Remember, whatever you decide, you can make changes. For example, if you decide inpatient would be a better place to start, or if you would be okay with fewer hours of treatment per week and want to try an IOP instead, a recovery specialist can make these adjustments to your care.

Things to consider:

  • How severe is your addiction?
  • How long have you had a substance use disorder?
  • Have you been diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health disorder?
  • Is your home safe, trigger-free, and well-supported?
  • Do you have a history of prior relapse?

Your answers to these questions may direct you to a higher level of care, such as a PHP.

If you're ready to start your journey to recovery, we're here to help.
